An Evening at Home

We spent the evening exactly as Dennis wished, surrounded by his children and his brother, as we laughed and reminisced and watched one of Dennis' favorite movies, Dances With Wolves. Jessica has inherited Dennis' mark making ability, as witnessed by the sketches she has been making of him during the past few days.

  1. That's very nicely drawn, Jessica,
    and very meaningful.

  2. Jess, and Dennis- look at how you have grown in your drawing skills- I think some of it is due to the dearness of the subject.

  3. Dennis,
I was just reading your blog "An evening at home" where it said that your favorite movie is Dances With Wolves. I'm not sure if you knew that my ex, Ron Beebe, worked on that movie and his name is actually in the credits under Costume Assistant. I got to go to the set on the day that they were filming the attack in the river. It was very cool to be there and see the behind the scenes. After the filming wrapped, they auctioned off some of the props and Ron brought home 3 buffalo skins that were on my living room floor for quite awhile. I still use many of the safety pins that the costumers used to pin the costumes together on set. The story goes that Ron and his friend Vern actually helped teach Kevin Costner how to ride a horse. I am not sure how true that actually is, but it sure is fun to tell. That is the year that I became pregnant with Ben, now 19 years old. It IS a great movie... I totally agree! Love, Nanette (Rapid City)
