A Delightful Homecoming

Dennis says the food looks and tastes a whole lot better at home than in the hospital. He is happy to be home, spending the entire day grazing on food to make up for what he didn't get while away. The warm sentiments sent from so many have touched Dennis, making this journey easier to bear.

Remember, we've got jerkey in the freezer and good connections to pheasant hunters back home. Elk season's on in Montana, and Ben and his wife are in the woods every spare moment, looking to fill their larder with more wapiti (local Native tribe's word for those big and tasty critters). Let us know when it's time to replentish your cupboard.

Don't forget that you can compete in the same weight class AND gain a few pounds after the holidays. I think Coach O'Connor would approve of you getting a head start.

When it's time for dessert, I've got a glass mug in the attic that you'd recognize --- just the right size, shape and color for a rootbeer float.

    Meanwhile, keep getting stronger.

  2. A note from Dennis to . . .
    David,

Thanks for the offer of the wapiti. I don't know that I have ever had the pleasure. Somehow any food connected with elk seems like it will be manly as opposed to any food connected with a moose which seems like it will be comical.

Yeah, I am hovering around the 100 pound mark. I agree that Bucky would be proud.

As for the rootbeer mug, I have to assume it is from the A&W tribe, in which case the glass on it is about an inch thick, all the better to serve less root beer. Does sound good though and you've got my taste buds hankering and my wanderlust wanting to take me on a trip up Junction to the drive-in.

I hope your trip to Philly was a good one. As it turns out, that really wasn't a good time to plan a visit since I ended up in the hospital, but some other time.

    Off for now,

    Dennis
